Wash Removable Covers
The COZYfix nursing pillow come with removable covers that can be easily washed. Follow the care instructions on the label, but typically, these covers can be machine washed in cold or warm water 40 or 60 degrees with mild detergent. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the fabric.
(Do Not Wash the Foam):
The cover of your breastfeeding pillow is designed to protect the foam from most dirt and spills, making it unlikely that the foam will get dirty. However, if the foam does need cleaning, follow these detailed steps to ensure it is done safely:
Spot Clean:
Identify Stains:
Even though the cover usually protects the foam, occasionally check for any visible stains or spots that may have seeped through.
Prepare Cleaning Solution:
Mix a small amount of mild detergent with warm water. Ensure the solution is well-diluted to avoid leaving any residue on the foam.
Dampen Cloth or Sponge:
Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the cleaning solution. Wring out the excess water so that the cloth or sponge is damp, not soaking wet.
Gently Clean the Foam:
Lightly dab the stained areas with the damp cloth or sponge. Use gentle, circular motions to lift the stain without saturating the foam. Avoid pressing too hard, as this could push moisture deeper into the foam.
Dry Immediately:
Blot Excess Moisture:
After spot cleaning, use a dry towel to blot away any remaining moisture from the foam. Press the towel gently against the cleaned areas to absorb as much water as possible
Air Dry Completely:
Place the foam in a well-ventilated area to air dry. Ensure the foam is laid flat and not exposed to direct sunlight or heat sources, as these can cause the foam to deteriorate. It's crucial that the foam is completely dry before reassembling the pillow to prevent mold and mildew growth.
Even with the robust protection provided by the cover, these steps will ensure your breastfeeding pillow remains clean and hygienic if the foam does require
spot cleaning.
